Installing decals with a clear laminate extending beyond the edges requires that any registration marks must be outside of the area covered by the decal. How do I line up the decal precisely?

Thoroughly clean the application area then use small pieces of tape and your measuring device to position the decal. Use a grease pencil or temporary marker to mark the centers.

Remove the decal and check that the centers are aligned to the panel edges (unless you intend it to be angled)

Use fresh tape along the top edge of the decal to securely fasten it to the surface in alignment with your marks.

Lifting the decal from the bottom edge, carefully pull off the backing paper starting at a top corner.

Spray the water/detergent solution (or a commercial preparation) on the adhesive (back) side of the decal.

Lay the decal flat and squeegee it down. Start gently from the center toward the outer edges and finish with firm pressure over the entire surface.

Peel off first the tape and then the transfer paper. Keep the free end close to the surface of the vehicle as you peel it back.
